Luisa provides therapy to children, adults and families experiencing complex trauma, difficulties in relationships or emotional pain. She believes that understanding the past can help make sense of present experiences, identify patterns and transform the future. Luisa has helped many clients create closer connections to their loved ones to overcome the effects of trauma and emotional distress. She works collaborative with her clients to address the emotional pain and challenges of life. Luisa has a warm and empathic therapeutic style and is trained in various therapy modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Martin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach and his Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles’ LGBT Affirmative Therapy Specialization.  Martin also received training from Yale School of Public Health in LGBTQ Affirmative CBT.  He approaches therapy from a very curious and objective position and helps his clients dig through the past to uncover the roots of what may be ailing them in their present.  He has training in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, toxic shame, dysphoria, low self-esteem and ego integrity, and relational issues.  Martin favors narrative therapy and solution-focused techniques to help empower clients from the LGBTQ+ community.  He offers a safe, person-centered and empathic environment free from judgment to this community as well as adult individuals, adolescents, and the Hispanic/Latino/Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities.
